Term	Definition
Autoplay Video Ad	A video that starts playing automatically, without any intervention from its viewer.
In-stream Video Ad	Played before, during or after the streaming video content that the user has requested. These ads cannot typically be stopped from being played. There are 3 sub-cases: Pre-roll Video Ad Mid-roll Video Ad Post-roll Video Ad
Pre-roll Video Ad	A pre-roll ad is a promotional video message that plays before the content the user has selected.
Mid-roll Video Ad NOT SUPPORTED	Mid-roll simply means advertisers have the option to run their ads not only at the beginning of a video but also during the middle “mid-roll.”
Post-roll Video Ad NOT SUPPORTED	Video ad that appears when an online video ends.
Out-stream Video Ad	A video ad without video content, often plays in an article between 2 paragraphs. It's the format spread by Teads.
MRSS	Media RSS is an RSS extension used for syndicating multimedia files (audio, video, image) in RSS feeds. The format is used by content publishers to feed media files into distribution platforms.
VAST	VAST, or “Video Ad Serving Template,” is a script that gives video players all the information required to play video ad: a creative in one of the following formats: mp4; webm; vpaid tracking pixels possibly another VAST as a waterfall. One of the big limitations with VAST is that it didn’t support viewability standards until VAST 4.0, the latest version.
VPAID	VPAID stands for video player ad-serving interface definition. It is a type of creative in JavaScript. VPAID has two big advantages compared to the standard VAST: Interactivity: allows user interaction with the ad measurement: makes it much easier for advertisers to track video ad performance and get metrics like viewability, completion rate and click-through rate by integration third-party partners like MOAT, IAS, DoubleVerify.

Up Next	Plugs on your existing video players, predicts the user's attention and suggests the best video to play next. Extends sessions of users already watching videos.
